I live in Memphis and I'm ashamed of this hotel. Went to stay one night when my house was being painted. The room was shabby, the carpet worn and sticky, the furniture apparently bought from the set of Starsky and Hutch. The TV didn't work, the room smelled, and management (at least I think the guy behind the front desk worked there; I'm not sure he knew if he did either) didn't care. \n \nMy stay lasted all of 15 minutes before my wife and I skedaddled. \n \nTake my word. Don't stay here. It'll give you a bad impression of Memphis.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserMy husband and I just returned from a seven day stay at the French Quarter suites hotel. After reading a review about the hotel we were very disappointed. The suite was dirty, the whirlpool tub was peeling; there was mold on the bathroom wall; the room carpet was very worn and needed cleaning. Even the area where the refrigerator and coffee pot was dirty; I cleaned the countertop with bleach and you would have been surprised at how dirty it was. We paid $107.00 a night for a hotel that needs alot of cleaning. The only thing that was clean every night was the bed linens. Now, maybe you wonder why did we stay at this hotel or did we complain about it, well, -- all the rooms in the hotels in the Memphis city area were sold out because of a large convention and we had just traveled by car from california. We were disappointed with this lovely historic hotel. Would we stay there again? Only, if they renovated the rooms and cleaned the place; rid the room of the mold on the wall. I would not recommend anyone staying here.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe suite had a very nice French/Creole style which was emmulated by the entire hotel. The good food was well complimented by the speedy service. If it had not been our hooneymoon, we probably would have spent more time exploring and less time....well you know :--)
