The Sheraton Gateway overlooks the runway at Los Angeles International Airport. Fortunately, thanks to triple-pane windows, you never hear the plane traffic. The décor is done in typical Californian comfort with pastel colors, large windows and lots of natural light. The location is, obviously, extremely convenient for an early flight. Landrey's Lounge and Restaurant the Rendezvous Cocktail Lounge, the Brasserie Restaurant and a Sushi Bar are all onsite. Toll-free reservations line: +1 800 325 3535.

We really enjoyed the room,we upgraded to a suite and it was beautiful. The location was convenient for the event we were attending and the service was wonderful. \n \nOne thing I really disliked was that my husband left his cell phone charger there, we called and no one has returned our call. \n \nOne other negative thought has to do with the valet, I felt that $19.00 per night was really high for parking.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserNothing special, but they try to maintain the bedding standard of all starwood chains. There's one bar in the hotel a small pool and a tiny gym. There's also a diner in the hotel. Lot's of transit passengers and airline staff from LAX. Hotel is quiet, unless you open the windows, you'll hear the airlines landing Ask for a room that faces the main road. There's also a parking fee involved if you have a car. An ok location if you're on a budget and in the LAX or El Segundo area for business or pleasure.
06 Jun 2005 | julianmoraisI spend 2 to five nights a week on the road, and tend to really like Starwood properties. Over the last few months I have spent a few nights at the Gateway Sheraton, so this review is not from an inexperienced traveler or based on a single bad experience. Over my last few stays I have been treated rudely by the folks that work at the Lobby Bar, the folks that answer the phone at the “guest request desk” and by the front desk staff. On my last stay I spent 3 hours trying to get internet access to my room, finally they offered me another room, which would be fine if it was not a smoking room. In the end the best that they could do was let me check out and drive down to the Long Beach Westin. Of course they wanted to charge me for the night. Do the right thing and try the Westin down the street, good hotel and nice folks.
