More and Maps
Stately Miskin Manor has a long and impressive history, dating back to the 10th century. Notable guests include Edward VIII who stayed at the house before he was crowned the king. During World War II it served as a hospital, it was then converted into flats and finally into the luxury hotel. The attractive building was sympathetically restored after two major fires, and 22 acre gardens with helicopter pads, attracts a large number of wedding parties in the summer. Rooms are individually and sumptuously furnished, with all modern facilities. Four-poster suites and rooms with wheelchair access are available. Situated in the grounds of Miskin Manor is its very own Health and Leisure Club. There are three glass-backed squash courts, badminton, swimming and a gymnasium. Assessments and supervision are available for those who want to improve their fitness.

The room was beautiful, overlooking the lawn and the gardens; the latter provided a restful environment for an after-dinner stroll. The staff were (generally) very helpful; the receptionists excellent. The food was generally good, although (as in so many good hotels) the coffee left much to be desired.
