Once part of a 17th century country estate, this is now a stylish and modern hotel. It is set in 280 acres of private parkland in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan and near the Cardiff city center. The main attraction is golf;18 and nine-hole courses are on offer and golfing breaks are a specialty. But the countryside setting and leisure facilities including tennis, squash and a 20 meter pool, means non-golfers will be kept happily busy too. Golfing facilities include a driving range and practice area and the courses offer plenty of challenges. The vast leisure complex offers a wide range of facilities, including pool, spa and exercise equipment and a children's club means that parents can relax in peace.

20 Nov 2008 | A Yahoo! UserIf you're coming on business by public transport forget it ! £50 return taxi to Cardiff station to which there was no reference in the publicity. So if you are remotely green forget it. Facilities had the appearance of newness and space, but irritations spoilt the window dressing. There was no wet changing in the gym. A shower didn't work, another was too hot. The staff eyed me suspiciously asking if i was a resident. Plug was jammed in the bedroom sink, so had to brush me teeth in the bath. The bathroon fan was loud and not possible to turn off, so i slept badly in an otherwise spacious bedroom, a pity. I had to queue for 15 mins to check in and similarly for breakfast, also again for coffee, I gave up on toast ! So they appeared understaffed or undertrained restaurant staff. There were many middle-aged male golfers, so if that's what you like it may redeem it for you. Potentially nice facilities spoilt by bad attention to detail and inexperienced or short staff, who were also quite nosiey moving around the place. I have experienced better service travelodges although less spacious I will not be retuning to the Vale. Also I couldn't get a mobile signal anywhere.
16 Sep 2008 | A Yahoo! UserIdeally situated just off the M4, perfect for a relaxing or sports orientated break. Good food choice and superb service. Large rooms with great views over golf courses.
