At only six storeys high, Sleep Inn is one of shortest buildings downtown. Its location on Confederate Park gives the hotel a country-in-the-city feel. The guestrooms are larger and more modern than you would expect for the price. Business-class rooms are available with fax machines, dual phone lines and video cassette players. The trolley line that runs past the hotel will take you directly to the Convention Center, Beale Street, the

A buddy and I went to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl and stayed here. The staff at this hotel was fantastic. Very Friendly and helpful. We booked a room for 12/30 (it was all they had at the time) and asked if they had an opening for 12/31 when we checked out. They did and even held it for us as we got out of the reservation we had made at another hotel (see my "review" under the French Quarter Inn) some distance away from Beale Street. The location was very convenient. The Breakfast was ok cereals, juice, coffee hard boiled eggs some sweet rolls and bagels etc. I would have loved some scrambled eggs and bacon on New Years day but I can't really complain about a free meal anyway. Rooms were clean and well maintained with great shower pressure.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe faciltiy was clean. The room was average. The
staff was professional. The breakfast was better than
average. Problems- The phone in the room didn't
work due to a computer malfunction, None of the ice machines
in the entire motel were working, and the
air conditioning made a vibrating sound when set
on low. The location was good. For 60 cents a
person you can go to Beale Street on the trolley(one way) which
you can enter and exit from the back of the motel. Beware of the
prices for adult beverages on Beale, it would cost $21.00 for a six-pack!
Memphis BBQ is good but not worth the price. Three
of us ate a dinner menu item with one beer and two sodas for about $50.00!
Good experience but would not do it again.
The Sleep Inn was a good price for the location and with the exception of the whinos
and beggars Memphis was a good getaway!!
