It is what it is!
Pete and Sam's is a Memphis institution. Even on a bad day it is a great value. You have to be a regular to fully appreciate Pete and Sam's, for it is a microcosm of old Memphis. Mr. Sam and Miss Vita are Memphis legends whose generosity is phenomenal, and the longtime servers (especially Mary) are pros. You'll never go wrong at Pete and Sam's.

Everyone is so nice, both at the Appling and Park Ave location.You can tell it is family owned and they value their hardwork. I love the toasted raviolii's! I would book a party there no questions asked!

The place is steeped in tradition. The atmosphere is old-timey, no frills...like you would imagine in the 50's and 60's. The food is consistently great. The pizza, spaghetti, raviolis, and manicotti are my favorites. Oh yeah, don't forget the Miss Vita salad. and the steaks are great too!

The food and service are excellent. I'd give it a 5, but it loses a star because there is no real non-smoking section. Don't go if you have asthma or can't stand smoke.
