Going back this year for the 4th time

five stars

Stayed at the Venetion Resort, great food nice people. Lots to see and do even for non gamblers. This year we will stay for 11 nights, still not enough. The helicopter trips to the canyon are great, you have lunch there and fly back over the strip at night, a must. Also the Jeep trip to Hover Dam is worth a trip. The lights at Fremont Street at night are excellent. Overall we always feel very safe, the strip is very clean, excellent food, great weather, total freedom to do what you want when you want as the place is alive 24 hours a day. We don't gamble that much only a few $, we prefer the shows at the various hotels. If you go you will not be disappointed, but go for at least 5 days to give you time to re-adjust from UK time.

Great. Adults only though.

four stars

We went in Jan 2009 and got engaged there! So much to do. Getting around all the themed hotels takes some time. The Venician was my favourite. Make sure you take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. Quite expensive but worth every penny! Loads to do. We spent 5 nights there and we still didnt see everything. There is an eating place for everyone, cheap and cheerful Dennys to lavish restaurants at the Paris Hotel or Stratosphere. Great for stag or hen partys. Would reccommend children going as there is not much to do for them. Would go back tomorrow!

... I great place if you enjoy gambling...

no stars

Las Vegas is a very awkward place really unique, it's glitter & glitz at first enchant my eyes however after a couple of days I couldn't help feeling that this was sort of artificial and empty. However I am not a gambler and I didn't gamble a cent. If you are a gambler then Vegas should appear as being the best place in the world. If your not a gambler then Vegas is still an amazing place to see however I wouldn't book a week there. A couple of days is definitely enough.

Transportation

five stars

Las Vegas is awesome, it gives everyone a chance to be a VIP. We rented a limousine and toured the strip looking out the moon roof at all the excitment. You can find a good limo service by searching Google: nevada casino limos The limos were surprisingly cheap but the drinks in Las Vegas are much more expensive than the last time but with the exchange rate now it still is not too bad.

stratasphere is the tops

five stars

Stayed at Stratasphere September 2006 worth every penny if only for the experience of going to the inspection tower at the very top of the hotel. If i could afford to go every year would do so, loved the place. Vegas is a place everybody should go at least once in a lifetime. Vegas Lover

Sense of Humour and Gas Mask Needed....

three stars

We stayed for 5 nights at the Stratosphere, which was good value for money. A day pass for the bus that went up and down the strip cost about $5. There were plenty of shows but with the cost of some of them, I would rather spend the money and see the shows up the West End. I suffer from asthma and found the smokey atmosphere too much at times, you definately notice a stale stench as you go in and out of the hotels. At first the prositute adverts on giant boards on the back of trucks was funny as were the touts offering cards with the prostitutes details in front of your face. It quickly became offensive and we felt really hassled, the middle of the strip was the worst area. I thought that there were 3 places worth visiting, Margaritaville, Top of the World Restaurant and the Grand Canyon. The restaurant which is on top of the Stratosphere, was expensive but worth every penny for the a unique experience. You are met and taken in a lift to the 106th floor, where you can have a cocktail before being shown to your table. The restaurant has full length glass windows from top to bottome and slowly rotates as you eat so that you see out over the whole of Vegas. We were seated at a lovely table facing out so that we did not miss the fantastic view. It lasted longer than a helicopter ride and we saw a lot more! We visited the Grand Canyon in a Hummer, which seemed more personal, interesting and great value. I think 3 days in Vegas in more than enough.

Vegas the best city in the World

five stars

Vegas is for me the best place on the planet there is simply nothing like it. I have been a dozen times and we have decided that we will get married there in September this year. If you dont gamble there is still loads to do friendly people, great clubs, good food, unusual hotels and great fun. For best results leave the kids at home. have a look at www.vegasuncovered.com loads on there.

Heaven on Earth

five stars

Simply the best place on earth! Something to do for people of all ages. Casinos are just a fraction of what this city has to offer. There is so much to do in the hotels that you do not need to go out! All the hotels such as Ceasar's Palace, the Venetian, MGM Grand, etc., are beautifully built. There are endless shows such as the famous Blue Man Group shows, although children are usually not allowed in most of them. The shopping at Ceasar's Palace is great! The grand canyon which is close to Las Vegas should definitely be visited as well.
